You may not even know that the air in your home or office may be too dry. At the same time, there may be germs, allergens and chemicals floating in the air you can’t even see. Before, you might have had to make two purchases: an air purifier to make the air cleaner and a humidifier to moisten it. The Daikin MCKB70 system unites them into one unit. It adds moisture to avoid uncomfortably dry air, so you can purify and humidify all at once.

Three-Stage Air Filtration
The advanced technology within each of our room air purifiers combines the power of three stages of filtration: An external pre-filter, a HEPA filter and an activated carbon filter. Together, they work to reduce many airborne particles, including bacteria, viruses, mold and dust, as well as chemicals, odors, pollen, pet hair and dander.
Stage One: A Pre-Filter for Larger Particles
(Permanent filter - No need to replace this filter)
The role of a pre-filter is to capture larger particles found in the air, such as hair and dust. Pre-filters begin the air cleansing process, before the air and its finer particles travel through the HEPA and charcoal filters. Functioning like an external sieve, the pre-filter prevents larger-sized contaminants from recirculating in the home.
Since they can easily be removed with a vacuum cleaner, there is no need to replace the pre-filter on your room air purifier.
Stage Two: A HEPA Filter
(Replacement filter available)
A HEPA filter is designed to capture bacteria, viruses, mold and dust, as well as pollen, pet hair and dander. That’s why it represents the heart of the air filtration process.
Smaller contaminants that make their way through the pre-filter can be caught in this filter. In a Daikin room air purifier, the HEPA filter can remove up to 99.97 percent of airborne particles as small as 0.1 microns.¹
As a comparison, a grain of fine sand is approximately 62 microns. So, it’s easy to understand the small-particle, air-cleansing power of the HEPA filter in a Daikin room air purifier. The accordion shape of the filter also adds to the capture process.
Stage Three: An Activated Carbon filter

An activated carbon filter absorbs more than a regular carbon filter. Its purpose is to remove odor molecules from the air, along with chemicals and gases, such as the formaldehyde found in many products in a typical household.
This can include resins used inside wood products made of composites, such as particleboard and fiberboard. Formaldehyde is also used in building materials and other products found in a typical home, such as glues, paints and even permanent-press fabrics.
The Daikin MCKB70 room air purifier removes 97.3% of formaldehyde in 60 minutes.²

A pre-filter, along with two layers of internal filtration and a powerful ultraviolet C (UVC) LED light, help to reduce many airborne pollutants and elements for improved indoor air quality.

Our ultraviolet C (UVC) LED light technology inactivates bacteria and viruses as small as 0.1 microns that are trapped in the purification system’s HEPA filter.3

Daikin’s low power consumption room air purifiers feature 4 fan speeds that you can adjust based on your environment. Enable the “quiet mode” feature for to minimize noise.
